Meet Juliet and crew

Juliet Sailing and Diving was founded in 2003 by Captain John Beltramo, who has been sailing and diving the Bahamas for over 15 years. John has been diving all over the world, and chose to base the company in the Bahamas because there is something special here. We’ve operated primarily out of Miami since our first cruise, running trips to the Bahamas in the Bimini area where there is an abundance of fish life and beautiful dive sites. When we started exploring down south of the area we stumbled on some breathtaking reefs along the eastern edge of the Sataren Channel – when the weather cooperates, that’s where you’ll find us.

In 2016, John passed on ownership to Liza, a long time Captain and crew member who fell love with Juliet and all her quirks. Liza has a lifetime of experience on sail boats and many years of diving in the Pacific Northwest, Florida, and the Caribbean. See more about the change in ownership here.

Juliet Sailing and Diving is based on principles of safety, quality, flexibility, and attention to detail. Our crew is one of the best in the industry, each with years of experience in their field. The beauty of trips on board Juliet is there is no set itinerary, we go where the good diving is, where the passengers want to go, where the weather is best. The crew is excited for every new destination, and our passengers come back year after year.

Welcome aboard – take our tour!

Onboard Amenities

Juliet is a 104′ three masted schooner that began her life as a freight boat in 1974 and was redesigned as a dive boat in 2003 with comfort and safety in mind. There are 6 private cabins easily accessible from on deck or through the main companionway. The Main Salon seats 12 comfortably, has an entertainment center with flat screen TV, DVD library, and Sirius Radio. On deck you will find an expansive sundeck for lounging, additional seating for al fresco dining, a crow’s nest in which you can take a watch, 12 tank stations with large private gear holds where tanks are immediately refilled, and a top-side shower with plenty of hot fresh water.

Meals

On Juliet, no one goes hungry – the cuisine on board is that irresistible. Home-cooked meals are served buffet-style, complete with delicious desserts and plenty of prepared snacks in between. Beverages, including a wide variety of beers, wines, and a full bar are included! Have allergies? We can accommodate any and all allergies and dietary restrictions, just be sure to let us know in advance.

Our Crew

We pride ourselves on the quality of our crew. While of course our main focus is safety and comfort, we certainly know how to have fun. Your crew will not only provide you with the highest level of service, professionalism, knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience but will make you feel like part of our diving family from the minute you step on board.

Boat Cat

We do have a boat cat on board, he’s pretty sweet and the life of the party. If you have mild allergies don’t worry, he doesn’t go into the cabins down below unless he is welcomed in. He mostly stays in the main salon and captains quarters, and sometimes wanders out on deck – his favorite time to get underfoot is when divers are preparing for the night dive. If you have severe allergies, please let us know so that we can make other arrangements – for you, not for the cat.

Captain and Engineer

Our captains are some of the most experienced in the dive industry, many with over ten years of experience. In addition, all of our captains are required to be at least 150 ton United States Coast Guard Masters which means they’ve endured rigorous training and testing to ensure the highest level of safety and knowledge. But above all, they are certainly not all work and no play; they are also experienced free divers and knowledgeable scuba divers as well. Ask your captain to take you diving! You won’t be disappointed.

Chef

Our cooks are not only highly qualified with years of experience in the galley and on the water, they are also able to provide quality home-cooked meals in any and all sea conditions, and can accommodate all dietary preferences and restrictions – all you have to do is ask.

Dive Master and Marine Biologist

Our Dive Team also serves as our safety officers, meaning all of our dive masters are SCUBA instructors with many years of experience and are fully insured. Not only are they trained in in-water life-saving, CPR and First Aid, but they are passionate about what they do and have a blast doing what they love. We also have an educator on board. Our on-board marine naturalist will teach you all about topics like corals, fish ID, wild dolphins, sharks, and lionfish. Start studying up for the Fish of the Dive competition!
